Description
Olivier Cong presents a performance created in collaboration with author Hon Lai-chu that combines original music and texts contemplating freedom, unrest, belonging and the sea. Evoking the life and scars of a city, the magical performance combines Cong’s restrained and melancholy musical style with Hon’s dark, reflective prose. The instrumental performance is accompanied by a specially produced free zine of Hon’s writing that audiences can dip into as they watch the show.
This event, the first collaboration between Cong and Hon, follows Cong’s highly successful performance I am afraid of at Freespace in October 2021. One of the most important contemporary writers in Hong Kong, Hon has been recognised with major literary awards in Hong Kong and Taiwan for her novels, short stories and essays.
