    Presented by the Tea House Rising Stars Troupe, the Inclusive Tea House Theatre Experience will be held on 7 January 2024 (preview) and 17 January 2024 at the Tea House Theatre in Xiqu Centre. Unlike the general setup for xiqu performances, the experience will be supported by a range of access services. The barrier free and relaxing theatre setting will enable people with and without disabilities to enjoy the performance together.

    The Chill Out Space is open for audience to relax in a stress-free setting, in particular people who are more sensitive to environmental stimulations.

    Participants may have opportunities to touch the costumes, props and musical instruments used in the performance during the Touch Tour, hence to be more engaged with the performance through the multisensory experience. The Touch Tour will be held before the Inclusive Tea House Theatre Experience begins.

    3. House rules are relaxed for the performance. Audience may exit and re-enter the theatre as needed.

    4. The lighting and audio effects of the performance will be slightly adjusted, such that audience who are sensitive to strong light or sound effects can enjoy the performance in a more suitable environment.

    5. The programme is specifically designed for audience of all ages.

    6. The performance is supported with access services including audio description, theatrical interpretation, accessible seating for wheelchair users and companions, and welcomes audience bringing guide dogs and guide dogs in training to enjoy the performance together. 

    7. The house programme is designed with reference to the principles of easy-to-read information, and will be shared with audience prior to the performance, facilitating the audience to understand the performance arrangement in advance.

    8. Surtitles in Chinese and English for the performance is available to ensure a meaningful and authentic traditional xiqu experience for audience.

    9.  Audience may request a portable service bell to contact staff members when assistance is needed during the performance.

    Points to Note
    Terms and Conditions
    1. The activity is only open for group registration by organisations/ schools.

    2. The activity is free of charge. Interested organisations/ schools are welcome to register for quotas on or before 10 November 2023 (Friday). Quotas are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Priority is given to organisations/ schools in the Yau Tsim Mong District.

    3. The Touch Tour is a side programme of the Inclusive Tea House Theatre Experience. Interested organisations/ schools can opt for the Touch Tour when registering for the Inclusive Tea House Theatre Experience. Priority is given to organisations providing rehabilitation service and special schools.

    4. Organisations/ schools will not be notified for unsuccessful registrations.

    5. Each organisation/ school can register for a maximum of 20 tickets. The actual allocated number of quotas may be adjusted according to the number of organisation/ school registrants.

    6. Seating is arranged by the organiser.

    7. Email confirmation with quota collection details will be sent to successful organisation/ school registrants two weeks prior to the performance.

    8. The organiser will take photos, videos and voice recordings during the performance. The said materials may be publicised for the purposes of corporate and event promotion, reporting and documentation.

    9. Adverse weather arrangement: If a black rainstorm warning or a typhoon signal no. 8 or above is in force three hours before the start of the performance, the performance will be cancelled.

    10. In case of any dispute, the organiser reserves the right of final decision. The organiser also reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions.
