Description
Sonic Encounter sees local artists from different fields embark on an experimental adventure in sounds and visual media. In an organic three-hour session, over a dozen musicians – on acoustic and electronic instruments ranging from traditional strings and winds to contemporary synthesisers and Eurorack – enter and leave, creating an ebb and flow of chance groupings and ever-changing auditory experiences. The musical improvisation is complemented with visuals created in realtime by a team of onsite digital multimedia artists. With no designated frameworks, the immersive event demands instinctive communication among the performers, and leads audience through a non-stop kaleidoscopic soundscape of chaos and quiet, chance and surprise.
The three-hour session has no intermission. The audience is free to enter and leave the venue at any time.
