Guitarist and theatre performer Michael Chan works with multiple performance groups including local indie band Bad Math, Shatin-based art collective TCKR, and free improv music group Fountain Collective. Chan has performed at Emax@Music Zone, Lost Stars Livehouse Bar & Eatery, Innonation Production Livestreams and various jazz gigs in Hong Kong, and is a co-founder of the local jazz activist group Fountain de Chopin. Since 2019, Chan has studied with some of Hong Kong’s best musicians under the Hong Kong Youth Jazz Collective education programme. He has also studied with Ensemble Transience, led by Ted Lo and Teriver Cheung (2020–2021), and completed a two-year programme with the Physical Theatre Institute at the Tang Shu-Wing Theatre Studio.
