In February 2024, join us at the Xiqu Centre for a brand-new original production from contemporary Cantonese opera troupe Canto Op. The acclaimed Hong Kong creatives continue their highly popular Lunar New Year presentations with Who is the Best Liar? – a festive comedy about truth and falsehoods.

The fun family show features a lively script by Wyborn Leung Wai-hong and Lee Ting-fung, and captivating performances by local stars Keith Lai Yiu-wai and Alan Tam Wing-lun.

    Synopsis
If relationships are based on lies, who can be trusted?
In this comic tale, Fa Yim-chi and Fa Ka-fun – a mother and son pair skilled in the art of deception – worm their way into the wealthy Chong family by pretending that Ka-fun is a long-lost grandson. As affection for the trusting and generous family matriarch develops, their deception begins to weigh heavy on them. But just as the pair decide to confess their deceit, it appears that an even more shocking deception may be at play…
