    Description More

The Inclusive West Kowloon Community Engagement Programme is co-presented by the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and the Christian Family Service Centre, sponsored by the Yau Tsim Mong District Office of the Home Affairs Department. The programme is held from November 2022 to February 2023, aims to connect different people in the community, including people with and without disabilities, ethnic minorities and more, through the Community Inclusion Ambassadors Programme held in the West Kowloon Cultural District, the Inclusive Workshop Series activities and inclusive Relaxed Performances. The West Kowloon Cultural District will serve as a platform where participants can consider diverse perspectives and experience its accessible and inclusive atmosphere where arts and culture are offered and inspire new thinking.

Phase 1: Community Inclusion Ambassadors Programme
Formed by 30 people with and without disabilities, the Community Inclusion Ambassadors Programme offered a four-week training from November to December 2022. It provides a variety of activities and experiences related to diversity and inclusion, allowing the ambassadors to learn professional knowledge and skills to take up an important role in promoting social inclusion in the community.

    Phase 2: Inclusive Workshop Series
From December 2022 to February 2023, 13 workshops will be held in the arts and cultural venues in the West Kowloon Cultural District, including the Xiqu Centre, M+, the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Art Park. Through the workshop series, participants will develop a deeper understanding on inclusivity and and have a better understanding on the accessible and welcoming environment offered by the West Kowloon Cultural District.

    Phase 3: Relaxed Performances

Held on 10 and 11 February 2023 at the Tea House Theatre in Xiqu Centre for the first time, the performances are presented by the Tea House Rising Stars Troupe. Unlike the general xiqu performance, the performance is supported with a range of access services. The relaxed theatre setting also supports people with and without disabilities to enjoy the performance without pressure.
