Overview

The Hong Kong live premiere of a choreography blending movement and gesture from Chinese dance and martial arts practices

Inspired by Chinese dance and martial arts traditions, Convergence reflects the synergy of movement in both art forms, and captures the transience between stillness and motion.

The production is the culmination of Hong Kong Dance Company’s three-year interdisciplinary study exploring the essence and gestures of traditional practices. It brings together new perspectives on the physicality of movement and the fluidity of expression from tranquillity to exuberance.

This programme is co-presented by WestK and Hong Kong Dance Company. This performance marks the first live performance of Convergence in Hong Kong after its online premiere in 2020. The online performance was awarded the Hong Kong Dance Award for Outstanding Online Production in 2022.

Concessions for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and a companion, CSSA recipients, wheelchair users and a companion and full-time students. Ticket holders must present proof of eligibility on admission. Concessions are available on a first come, first served basis.

Discounts (available at art-mate only)

Friends of Hong Kong Dance Company Prestige Members are eligible for a 20% discount, while Classic Members are eligible for a 10% discount. Discounts apply to standard tickets purchase and cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions. Available on a first come, first served basis. Ticket holders must present proof of eligibility on admission.

Package Discounts (available at art-mate only)

15% discount on single-transaction purchases for two or more standard tickets per programme for both Convergence and HerStory. The discount cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions and is available on a first come, first served basis.

Suitable for ages 6 and above.

Remarks

Latecomers will only be admitted at a suitable break or may not be admitted.
