Description
The two awardees of the Arts Impact Fellowship 2022, composer Hippocrates Cheng Ching-nam and harmonica player Gordon Lee Chun-lok, share findings of their respective research projects.
Through his project Braille Music Reimagined: A Research Initiative on the Application of Braille Codes in Hong Kong’s Music Education, Cheng explores the feasibility of using Braille music codes to help the local visually-impaired community learn music.
Lee’s project, titled Breathe Musically, studies the effects of harmonica playing in improving the cardiopulmonary function and mental health of elderly people recovering from COVID-19.
The Arts Impact Fellowship supports young artists, educators, researchers and arts administrators to develop pioneering research initiatives that inspire change, community engagement and audience building, with the goal of generating positive social impact through the power of the arts. Cheng and Lee are the two awarded fellows of the 2022 edition. Details of the Fellowship can be found here.
