陶瓷除了廣泛作為民間日常用器外，亦用以展示統治者和貴族階層的地位和品味。故宮博物院所藏中國歷代陶瓷，主要繼承明、清兩朝的宮廷典藏，品類蔚然大觀。本展覽為香港首次大規模展示故宮陶瓷藏品——這一百五十多件重點展品既是各時代的精品，也是中國陶瓷史的縮影。
