Description
Freespace Jazz Fest returns this October, with five days of non-stop great sounds on five stages at Freespace, the Art Park and Hong Kong’s new venue Wonderland.
At Wonderland – one of two outdoor stages – featured artists include Eugene Pao, Joyce Cheung, Daniel Chu and the Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra with new and original shows.
In The Box at Freespace, headliner events include a unique double bill with Ted Lo’s personal tribute to legendary jazz pianist Chick Corea and original works by Tsui Chin-hung, plus songs and instrumental pieces by jazz pianist Bowen Li and his five-piece collective Looppool, and a special performance for young jazz audiences curated by percussionist Anna Fan. To add to the experience, all shows are enhanced by Freespace’s Immersive Sound Art technology.
In The Room, the Experimental Lab offers an avant-garde musical experience with local musicians and new media artists improvising live with artists joining online from Seoul, Montreal, Berlin and Zurich.
On the Harbourside Lawn West – our second outdoor stage – Hong Kong-based musicians from around the globe present an exciting free programme of world music reflecting the city’s multicultural makeup.
And every evening at Lau Bak Livehouse, a special programme showcases a diverse mix of local bands.
The festival also includes free film screenings, an arts and crafts market on the Great Lawn, plus a variety of fun activities for parents and kids. Stay tuned for details!
If you are interested in running a stall at the arts and crafts market, please apply through our programme partner LOCOLOCO by 10 October 2022. Application form (In Chinese only)
