Description
Created by Hong Kong-based conceptual artist Mak2, Hong Kong’s Next Top Artist offers a wry critique of the commercialisation of creativity and the contemporary local art scene. Based on a familiar reality TV format, the online series of five semifictional shorts sees Mak2 collaborate with professionals in the local art sector to makeover the career of amateur artist Foor. In each 5-minute episode, curators, photographers, gallerists and other experts advise Foor on how to transform his creations, branding and social skills, with the aim of elevating his standing in the art field.
