    Description

Did you know that Cantonese opera performers always greet each other with “Good morning” no matter what time of day they meet? Or that in traditional tea houses balcony seats cost more than those closer to the stage? To find out why, join a Xiqu Centre guided tour and learn about our venue and the rich history of the art of Chinese opera.

The docent-led tours take place every Monday and Tuesday. Supplemented with multimedia elements, they help participants explore the Xiqu Centre facilities, learn about the architectural and design features, and discover fascinating facts about the culture and stories behind the traditional art form. All tours are free of charge and conducted in Cantonese, English or Mandarin. Regular tours are approximately 60 minutes long, accessible tours, available according to specific needs, are approximately 90 minutes long.

Tours are open to registered schools, non-profits and charitable organisations only. Advance online registration required.

Please submit your registration at least 21 working days before the preferred tour date. Tours are available on a first come, first served basis.
