Calliope – A Chronicle of Virtuoso Eloquence, is an original musical produced by the Good Hope School Choir to celebrate its 65th anniversary in 2024. Having earned their reputation and recognition not only in the region but also in Hong Kong all these years with the talent and dedication the choristers always have, the Choir are ready to display their flair and musicality in Xiqu Centre.
The story centres around the ever-exciting lives of Good Hopers. What was it like to be a choir member in the 90s? How could anyone cope with the strenuous rehearsal schedules and the challenging public examinations? Seasoned with the beautiful melodies, mesmerizing dance moves and acting, featuring retired and current sisters and teachers, the musical revels the power of music and passion, as well as the valour and perseverance entailed in the girls’ pursuit of dreams.
The production is not merely a homecoming event for the Good Hope Family, it is also an embodiment of teachers and students’ collective effort, and undoubtedly an emblem of every Good Hoper’s collective memories.
