Blue Poles Limited (BPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA), today announced the appointment of Gammon Construction Limited (Gammon), as the management contractor to oversee the construction completion of the M+ project (Project).  BPL is also in discussion with the existing subcontractors and has already started the novation process for selected subcontractors, with a number of novations agreed.  WKCDA intends to progressively complete the novation of selected subcontractors through BPL as part of the ongoing exercise to facilitate the continuation of the Project.

BPL has been established to ensure that the Project can continue in light of the previous M+ Main Works Contractor’s employment being terminated.  It will enter into an agreement with Gammon, the new management contractor, and will contract directly with the novated subcontractors.  Going forward, BPL will also enter into contracts on behalf of WKCDA and carry out any other necessary tasks in support of the Project.

With Gammon on board, the Project will return to operation soon with the ultimate goal of delivering the M+ building by end of next year, leading to opening of the museum in 2020.
