Share your passion for dance with the people around you – be part of our new outdoor performance programme
West Kowloon is showcasing a new creative outdoor dance project – The Dance WE Made @ West Kowloon. Presented in collaboration with British dance company Casson & Friends, the programme brings accessible, interactive dance performances to West Kowloon – drawing visitors into spontaneous acts of choreographic creation sparked by a simple conversation.
If you’re aged over 16, passionate about dance of any style, and excited to start a conversation and share your moves with new friends and strangers, we want to hear from you!
Successful dancers will become part of our West Kowloon Dance Crew and take part in free pre-performance training on the notion of “People Powered Performance” with choreographer Tim Casson, founder of Casson & Friends. You will also be asked to commit to monthly performances between August 2022 and March 2023. All dancers receive a small per-day remuneration.
Application Deadline: 30 June 2022 (Thursday)
Online Audition: 11 or 12 July 2022 (Monday or Tuesday)
Pre-performance online training (pending): 5–7 August 2022 (Friday to Sunday)
Find out more about the project below and apply now to join our West Kowloon Dance Crew.
About The Dance WE Made
Performed in outdoor public spaces, The Dance WE Made draws members of the public into conversations that spark imaginative, spontaneous dance – enabling friends and strangers to devise fun original choreography with teams of creative and highly skilled professional dancers. The newly created dances are then performed by the dancers in each location, filmed and posted online for the world to see!
The Dance WE Made began in 2012 as part of Big Dance. Since then it has been presented at festivals and other locations in 10 countries and collected dance moves from more than 2,500 people.
