The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) presented the key findings from the public consultation exercise on the Hong Kong Palace Museum project to the Consultation Panel today.

Following the signing of The Memorandum of Understanding of Cooperation on the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) with the Palace Museum in Beijing on 23 December 2016, the WKCDA has undertaken a multi-pronged public consultation exercise from 11 January to 8 March 2017 to collect public views on the HKPM project generally and, in particular, on its design, programming, learning and interpretation opportunities.

An independent consultant, The Consumer Search Group (CSG), has been appointed by the WKCDA to conduct a thorough analysis of all the submissions and views received during the public consultation period. WKCDA also commissioned CSG to conduct a territory-wide public opinion poll on the Hong Kong Palace Museum project.

The key findings show that the public generally support the HKPM project. The key findings have been uploaded to the WKCDA website. The analysis of all information gathered through this public consultation exercise is being finalised and a final report will be presented to the WKCDA Board for their consideration before deciding the next step. The final report will be made available for viewing by members of the public in due course.
