WKCD implements special opening hours to welcome visitors during the Labour Day Golden Week – Museums launch Package Ticket and Combo Membership Scheme

To welcome visitors to Hong Kong during the Labour Day Golden Week period (29 April to 3 May), the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA or the Authority) announced that the two museums in the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD), will implement special opening arrangements during the period. M+ and the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) will be open to the public on the days they are scheduled to be closed, i.e., 1 May (Monday) and 2 May (Tuesday) respectively. In addition, WKCDA launches the Museums Package Ticket and the Combo Membership Scheme to facilitate purchase of admission tickets for both HKPM and M+ and to encourage visitors to explore the diverse arts and cultural programmes offered by WKCD.

1. Special museum opening hours

• M+ will open on Monday,1 May 2023, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
• The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) will open on Tuesday, 2 May 2023, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

In anticipation of more visitors coming to WKCD including HKPM and M+ during the Labour Day Golden Week period, the Authority will maintain close contact with the travel trade and continue to enhance WKCD’s capability to receive visitors with a view to promoting Hong Kong's new strengths in arts, culture and tourism while upkeeping visitor experience.

2. Museums Package Ticket

The HKPM and M+ have jointly launched the Museums Package Ticket. The package ticket is available on Cityline online ticketing platform and the public can access the relevant page on Cityline via the West Kowloon Cultural District website. Visitors can enjoy discounted rates when purchasing regular priced General Admission and/or Special Exhibition tickets for both museums in a single transaction. The time slots for visiting the two museums should be within the same month but need not be on the same day.

Remarks: Prices may vary subject to different special exhibitions in the two museums. Discounted prices will be adjusted based on the ticket prices on the date of admission.

Customers purchasing admission tickets for either of the museums (including reservations for free General Admission to the HKPM on Wednesdays) can continue to buy tickets through the West Kowloon Cultural District website or mobile app, and Cityline online ticketing platform by opening an account with their email address. Customers can also purchase tickets for individual museums on the online platforms of the museums’ ticketing partners, namely China Travel Service, Fliggy, KKday, Klook and Trip.com.
