The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA or the Authority) welcomes the Government’s continued provision of resources to promote arts and cultural development as proposed by the Financial Secretary in the 2023–24 Budget. In addition, the Authority will support the “Happy Hong Kong” Campaign.
Mr Henry Tang Ying-yen, Chairman of the Board of WKCDA, said, “the HKSAR Government’s continued devotion of resources to support the development of arts and culture further promotes cultural development in Hong Kong, which is conducive to enriching the ecosystem of cultural and creative industries and developing Hong Kong as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange.”
In the coming months, the WKCDA will organise a number of major arts and cultural events, including Hong Kong’s largest pop music festival, “HKT x WESTK POPFEST” and "WKCD Art Week" to launch the WKCD internationally. A number of arts and cultural exhibitions and programmes will be staged in WKCD in the coming year to strengthen the exchange of arts and culture, attract local, Mainland and overseas audiences, and promote Hong Kong’s new strengths in arts, culture, and tourism.
The Authority is committed to strengthening cultural exchange and cooperation between Hong Kong, Mainland and overseas and supporting the development of cultural and creative industries. As a unique cultural hub of Hong Kong, WKCD will continue to utilise its distinctive advantages as a melting pot of Chinese and Western cultures, showcasing Hong Kong’s cultural strengths and supporting Hong Kong’s development into an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange.
