The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (the Authority) announces that starting from 9 December 2021 (Thursday), except for exempted persons, all persons will be required to use the “LeaveHomeSafe” (LHS) app to scan the venue QR code before they are allowed to enter museums and performance venues in the West Kowloon Cultural District.
The arrangement is implemented in response to the Government’s latest adjustment to the usage of “LeaveHomeSafe” in all premises regulated under the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F). In the West Kowloon Cultural District, the venues to which this new arrangement will be applicable include all catering businesses regulated under Cap. 599F and Places of Public Entertainment Licence (PPEL) licensed premises such as M+, Freespace, as well as Grand Theatre, Tea House Theatre, Seminar Hall and Studios in the Xiqu Centre. Public performances, events and exhibitions held in the Art Park, as well as public performances and events that require the temporary PPEL will also need to adhere to the new LHS requirement.
In accordance with the announcement made by the Government, persons who are aged 15 or below, aged 65 or above and those with disabilities that render use of the LHS app difficult will be exempted from the new requirement when they enter the abovementioned West Kowloon Cultural District venues. Exemptions will also be granted to individual persons depending on the actual circumstances. All exempted persons are required to complete a specified record form to register their names, contact numbers, as well as the date and time of their visits. They are also required to present relevant identification documents for verification at the request of the staff on-site during registration if necessary.
As it will take time to verify personal particulars of exempted persons under the new arrangement, their waiting time for entering the relevant venues may be lengthened. The Authority encourages the exempted persons to use the LHS app where practicable to save time.
