In anticipation of a large number of visitors coming to the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD or the District) to watch the National Day Fireworks Display in the evening of 1 October 2023 (Sunday), special crowd management measures and traffic arrangements will be implemented by the Police and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA or the Authority) starting from the afternoon that day.
Museum Drive and Cultural Drive will be closed by the Police on 1 October 2023 starting from 7 pm. All bus stops and minibus stops within the operational area will be suspended. Car parks in WKCD will also be closed for both entry and exit starting from 7 pm. WKCDA would like to draw the public’s attention to the arrangements as follows:

Museum Drive and Cultural Drive will be closed. Only vehicles with a valid permit will be allowed to enter and leave the closed area. Public car parks in the District will be inaccessible for both entry and exit (except Xiqu Centre Car Park)
All bus stops, and minibus stops within the operational area will be suspended.
The last bus service of the complementary WKCD circular route bus will depart from MTR Austin Station/High Speed Rail Hong Kong West Kowloon Station at 6:40 pm and be suspended thereafter. |

Visitors may exit the Art Park either by walking along Museum Drive or through the West Gate of the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade. Depending on the circumstances on the ground, Police will open the Artist Square Bridge for use if and when they deem it safe to do so. |
The entrances and exits of all car parks in the District will reopen when the Police lift the road closure. |
** Members of the public can exit from MTR Kowloon Station Exit E or MTR Austin Station Exit D and follow the directional signs to enter the Art Park.
Due to the above-mentioned road closure arrangements, drivers may wish to note that public car parks in the District will be closed for entry and exit in phases from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm on 1 October. Details are as follows:

Drivers who need to leave the District before the National Day Fireworks Display must exit the car parks in the District (except Xiqu Centre Car Park) by 6:30 pm, otherwise they can only leave after the crowd has been dispersed and the Police has reopened the roads in the District, likely to be after 10:30 pm.

If drivers need to drive to WKCD that evening, they must park their vehicles in the car parks in WKCD before 7 pm. They can only leave after the Police has reopened the roads in the District.

Drivers who wish to leave the Xiqu Centre Car Park should leave by 8:30pm due to road closures in the Austin Road West area after completion of the fireworks display.
Due to safety considerations, erecting tents, tables and chairs will not be allowed in the Art Park on 1 October, and cycling, scootering and kite flying will not be allowed from 6 pm onwards. Visitors should follow instructions from the staff on site.
The Authority strongly recommends visitors who plan to dine at restaurants and cafes in WKCD make reservations in advance. These visitors are advised to plan their journey in advance and arrive in WKCD early to avoid being affected by the road closure arrangements. For more details, please check the respective websites of the outlets for their opening arrangements.
The two museums in the District, M+ and the Hong Kong Palace Museum, will be closed at 6 pm on 1 October. WKCDA strongly recommends visitors to pre-book their museum tickets during the National Day Holiday.
The above crowd management measures, special traffic arrangements, and operation arrangements to be implemented in the District may be further adjusted by the Police and the Authority having regard to the situation at the time.
The Authority strongly encourages visitors to take public transport to the District. Members of the public should follow the instructions given by Police officers and take heed of the signage and broadcasts at the scene. The Authority appeals to all visitors to exercise tolerance and patience and stay alert to the latest traffic news through the media and the Authority’s announcements.
