Performances and Activities with Live Audiences Resume in Xiqu Centre and Freespace

Tea House Theatre Experience at Xiqu Centre Returns on 11 March 2021

In light of the Government’s latest announcement on relaxing social distancing rules, the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (the Authority) announced that performances and activities with live audiences in the Xiqu Centre and Freespace have resumed. The Tea House Theatre Experience at the Xiqu Centre will greet the audience again on 11 March 2021 (Thursday) and tickets will be on sale from 23 February 2021. We look forward to welcoming audiences at the Xiqu Centre and Freespace soon. The Art Park and waterfront promenade remain open.

Enhanced disease prevention measures are in force to safeguard the public, performers and staff members in all performing arts venues within the West Kowloon Cultural District (the District). In line with the Government’s control measures, audiences attending performances and activities held in the District’s performing arts venues must scan the ‘LeaveHomeSafe’ QR code by their mobile phone, or register their names, contact numbers, the dates and times of their visits upon admission. Ticket holders are advised to arrive at venues in good time. All visitors will be required to undergo temperature check and wear a mask at all times within the venues. Please follow the instruction of the on-site venue staff as required.

Special seating arrangement will be implemented in the Xiqu Centre and Freespace with seating capacity controlled at 50% the maximum. All performers, relevant staff and service workers will take COVID-19 tests on needed basis or regularly. The tea and dim sum experience at the Tea House Theatre at the Xiqu Centre will be temporarily suspended, whereas ticket holders will get a complimentary takeaway drink after the show.

The ticket office at the Xiqu Centre remains open.

The Authority strongly appeals to visitors to the District to follow the latest preventive regulations announced by the Government. The Authority will continue to comply with the Government’s latest measures and closely monitor the situation to adjust the venue opening arrangements and programmes accordingly.
