M+, Asia’s first global museum of contemporary visual culture in the West Kowloon Cultural District (West Kowloon), will open to the public on Friday, 12 November 2021. M+ is pleased to announce that all visitors will enjoy free admission to M+ exhibitions (except for special exhibitions and events) in the first twelve months after the opening date. Moreover, online reservations for museum admission and registration for free opening programmes will be available from Friday, 5 November 2021.
M+ announced previously that the general admission fees to galleries would be waived for twelve months after the opening date for Hong Kong residents with valid identification. In response to the overwhelming support for the museum, M+ is pleased to announce that this arrangement will be extended to all visitors. Special exhibitions and events as well as cinema screenings may require separate paid tickets.
To ensure smooth admission of visitors, online reservations for timed admission to M+ will be available. Reservations for admission in the first two weeks, from 12 to 28 November 2021, can be made from 5 November 2021 at 10am on the West Kowloon website, M+ website, or through the ‘West Kowloon Cultural District’ mobile application. Registration for a series of public opening programmes can also be made on M+ website and ‘West Kowloon Cultural District’ mobile application.
In anticipation of a large number of visitors during the initial period after the opening, M+ strongly recommends all visitors make reservations ahead of their visits and arrive at the museum within their designated timeslot. Visitors may have to wait before entry to the museum and its galleries during peak hours. Walk-in visits may be possible but will be subject to availability. Children aged six or below accompanied by registered visitors do not require reservation. Visitors who have registered for M+ opening programmes are not required to make separate reservations for museum admission: they can present their programme confirmation email upon entry to the M+ building.
M+ Members and Patrons enjoy unlimited year-round access to the museum and hence reservation for admission is not required. They can present their membership cards upon entry to the museum building and access the museum through designated lanes. M+ welcomes the public to join M+ Membership and support the development of the museum through sponsorship, donations, and patronage.
