M+ Pavilion Reopens on 16 September 2020

Extends Shirley Tse: Stakes and Holders to 1 November 2020

The Art Park and certain facilities at the Xiqu Centre and Freespace remain open to the public

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (the Authority) announced that the M+ Pavilion will reopen on 16 September 2020 (Wednesday) and resume normal opening hours, with an extension of the current installation Shirley Tse: Stakes and Holders to 1 November 2020, giving more visitors the chance to experience this amazing programme.

Shirley Tse: Stakes and Holders presents sculptural work and installations by the Los Angeles-based Hong Kong artist Shirley Tse. Tse’s site-responsive installation uses sculpture as a way of thinking to explore contrasting positions, processes, and materials. She addresses the concepts of agency, negotiation, and connection in a pluralistic world, drawing on both histories and imaginations. This is the return to Hong Kong of Shirley Tse: Stakeholders, Hong Kong in Venice, Hong Kong’s presence at the Venice Biennale in 2019.

At the M+ Pavilion, enhanced hygiene measures will be implemented to safeguard the health of visitors and staff members. Visitors will be required to undergo temperature checks and wear masks properly throughout the visit. Capacity control will also be implemented at the venue. Visitors should follow the Government’s latest measures on group gathering and keep a safe social distance during the visit. Please refer to the programme's webpage www.westkowloon.hk/stakesandholders for more information. The Art Park and certain facilities at the Xiqu Centre and Freespace will also remain open to the public. From now to 30 September 2020, performances and programmes at the Xiqu Centre and Freespace will be rescheduled or cancelled. Certain programmes will be presented digitally via the West Kowloon Cultural District (the District) website www.westkowloon.hk. Ticket holders should retain their tickets and visit the District’s website for details of rescheduled performances or refund arrangements. Online ticketing is in service and the ticketing hotline services (+852 2200 0022) are available.

The Authority will comply with the Government’s latest measures and will continue to review the situation and adjust the venue opening arrangements and programmes accordingly.
