    The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (the Authority) has been informed by the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) that a preliminary positive COVID-19 case had visited M+ on Thursday, 30 December 2021 afternoon. M+ is now included in the latest Compulsory Testing Notice issued by the Government. Any person who had been in M+, 38 Museum Drive, West Kowloon Cultural District, Kowloon, Hong Kong from 1pm to 5pm on the abovementioned date must undergo compulsory testing in accordance with the arrangement by the Government.

     

    The Authority urges all visitors and employees, including but not limited to M+ full-time, part-time and contract employees as well as other staff members of the Authority, who were present in the M+ on the abovementioned dates and times to comply with the Compulsory Testing Notice issued by the Government and be tested for COVID-19. The Authority further recommends other employees working in the M+ building and the Conservation and Storage Facility (CSF) to undergo testing as soon as possible. All M+ frontline staff have to undergo testing and pending receipt of their test results, M+ will be closed for one day on Wednesday, 5 January 2022. Visitors who have pre-registered to visit M+ on 5 January are invited to note the museum closure and re-book for their visit.

     

    The Authority has strengthened anti-epidemic measures in all facilities in the West Kowloon Cultural District to ensure the safety of the public and employees, including increasing the frequency of cleaning of public places, such as washrooms, elevators, lifts, handrails and door handles. Except for exempted persons, those who enter museum and performance venues of West Kowloon Cultural District must use the LeaveHomeSafe mobile application.

     

    The M+ building and CSF will be fully disinfected and cleaned on 5 January to protect the health and safety of visitors and employees. The Authority will fully facilitate the epidemiological investigation conducted by the Department of Health, maintain close communication with the Department, and make follow-up arrangements in accordance with instructions in a timely manner.
