The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM), Hong Kong’s newest cultural landmark in the West Kowloon Cultural District, announces today that it has received one million visits since its opening on 3 July 2022. To celebrate this important milestone, Dr Louis Ng, Museum Director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, welcomed the one millionth visitor at the Museum, who received a newly published catalogue for the Museum’s latest special exhibition “Cartier and Women” with the autographs of three lenders—actresses Brigitte Lin and Carina Lau, as well as businesswoman Pansy Ho.
Dr Louis Ng, Museum Director of the HKPM, said, “With the gradual resumption of economic and cultural exchanges among countries and regions as the pandemic is coming to an end, the HKPM is thrilled to welcome an increasing number of tourists from the Mainland and abroad. Hitting the milestone of one million visits in less than ten months is truly remarkable, and we’re deeply grateful to the community for their support. We will continue our effort to curate exhibitions and educational activities with Hong Kong perspectives and world-class standards, connecting the past to the present and testifying to our vision and mission—to promote traditional Chinese culture and advocate dialogue and exchange among world civilisations.
All categories of admission tickets to the HKPM for April 2023, including the special exhibitions “Cartier and Women” (Gallery 8) and “Radiance: Ancient Gold from the Hong Kong Palace Museum Collection and the Mengdiexuan Collection” (Gallery 9), are now on sale. Members of the public can purchase tickets through the HKPM website, WKCD website, WKCD mobile app, and online ticketing platform Cityline. Alternatively, tickets can be purchased through the online platforms of the Museum’s ticketing partners.
