Hong Kong Palace Museum Unveils “HKPM Friends” Membership Programme

The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is pleased to launch the “HKPM Friends” Membership Programme today (28 July), with a view to fostering the community’s continuous support for and closer connection with the museum. HKPM Friends can enjoy unlimited free admission to the museum’s thematic exhibitions (Gallery 1- 7), receive complimentary admission vouchers to visit its thematic and special exhibitions (Gallery 1-9), and be entitled to a wide range of exclusive privileges and benefits.

Since its official opening to the public on 3 July 2022, the HKPM has received more than 100,000 visitors. Nearly all the 270,000 admissions tickets for the months of July and August 2022 have been sold, which is a testament to the public’s overwhelming support for the new museum. To facilitate visits to the museum and cultivate the public’s interest in Chinese art, culture and history, the HKPM is launching the HKPM Friends Membership Programme, which grants members unlimited access to the museum’s thematic exhibitions with no reservations or queuing for tickets required, as well as five complimentary admission vouchers which entitle the member to visit all the galleries in the museum. Other benefits include priority lane to access the museum, and a range of special shopping and dining discounts.

Dr Louis Ng, Museum Director, HKPM, said: “We are immensely grateful for the support we have received from the public since the HKPM’s official opening. Their enthusiasm for the museum reflects well on the incredible effort made by the HKPM team and motivates us to continue offering an innovative, inspiring and educational museum experience for all visitors. We hope the community will participate in the HKPM Friends Membership Programme to become our first batch of members. In addition to enjoying the range of benefits we offer, members will help sustain the museum’s long-term development while promoting the inheritance and innovation of Chinese traditional culture.”
