    The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (the Authority) reminds members of the public that the Transport Department (TD) will enhance the public transportation services to, from and within the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) in response to the continuous increase in visitor numbers. Starting from 13 October 2023 (Friday) and 14 October 2023 (Saturday), new routes of green minibus (GMB) and franchised bus will be introduced respectively to provide public transport services between WKCD and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station of High Speed Rail/MTR Austin Station. Visitors planning to visit M+, the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Art Park can make use of the following public transport services to and from WKCD. Service details are as follows:

    KMB will provide passengers of the new route No. W4 with interchange concession on more than 30 KMB routes to various districts starting from 14 October (Saturday). Further interchange concession will be introduced with MTR at a later date. KMB will also set up fare savers at M+ and Hong Kong Palace Museum, providing fare concessions for KMB routes.

     

    The Authority reminds members of the public that with the enhancement of public transport services, the “West Kowloon Circular Route”, which is currently providing complimentary shuttle bus service between WKCD and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station of High Speed Rail/MTR Austin Station will be suspended after the last bus departs at 8:30 pm on 13 October (Friday). Visitors planning to travel to WKCD from the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station of High Speed Rail/ MTR Austin Station can make use of the new public transport services mentioned above.

     

    Meanwhile, the Authority will introduce a trial electric vehicle shuttle service in the District on 16 October (Monday). The trial service will run through M+, Art Park, Hong Kong Palace Museum and Freespace, providing visitors with a relaxing and environmentally friendly transport option. Details of the service arrangement will be announced on the WKCD website shortly.

     

    The Authority has been striving to enhance the public transport services to, from and within WKCD for the convenience of the public and tourists. The Authority will continue to maintain close communication with TD and monitor passenger demand for relevant service routes, and discuss with the relevant Government departments and public transport operators with a view to strengthening the services when necessary.

    The West Kowloon Cultural District is one of the largest and most ambitious cultural projects in the world. Its vision is to create a vibrant new cultural quarter for Hong Kong on 40 hectares of reclaimed land located alongside Victoria Harbour. With a varied mix of theatres, performance spaces, and museums, the West Kowloon Cultural District will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances, and cultural events, providing 23 hectares of public open space, including a two-kilometre waterfront promenade.
