Appointments of Chairman and Members to the Public Private Partnership Projects Committee under the WKCDA Board

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) announced the appointments of Mr Paulo PONG Kin-yee as the Chairman and Dr Roy CHUNG Chi-ping as a Member of the Public Private Partnership Projects Committee (the PPP Projects Committee) under the WKCDA Board for a term from 10 November 2022 to 22 October 2024, or cessation of the Board membership of respective members, whichever is earlier.

In addition to the above appointments, WKCDA also announced the reappointments of four members and one substitute member to the PPP Projects Committee for a term from 10 November 2022 to 22 October 2024, or cessation of the Board membership of respective members, whichever is earlier.

The reappointed members are:

Ms Tennessy HUI Mei-sheung
Ms Dee POON Chu-ying

The reappointed substitute member is:

Ms Rose LEE Wai-mun

The PPP Projects Committee oversees the PPP projects, including all Hotel/Office/Residential and Retail, Dining and Entertainment developments procured by way of the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) method under the Enhanced Financial Arrangement, from planning, procurement and project implementation to successful completion of works – carried out by WKCDA, its wholly-owned subsidiaries or BOT third-party participants.

WKCDA currently has seven committees under the WKCDA Board, namely the Executive Committee, Audit Committee, Development Committee, Investment Committee, Performing Arts Committee, PPP Projects Committee and Remuneration Committee. They have been established to assist and make recommendations to the WKCDA Board in various specialised areas related to the implementation of the West Kowloon Cultural District project.

Members of the WKCDA Board have joined different committees in accordance with their expertise, professional knowledge and experience. The WKCDA Board may also appoint non-Board members as Co-Opted Members to the committees in order to tap expertise from different professional and community sectors.

Its vision is to create a vibrant new cultural quarter for Hong Kong on forty hectares of reclaimed land located alongside Victoria Harbour. With a varied mix of theatres, performance spaces, and museums, the West Kowloon Cultural District will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances and cultural events, providing twenty-three hectares of public open space, including a two-kilometre waterfront promenade.
