    The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) announced the reappointment of the Chairman and 12 existing members, and the appointment of three new members to its Consultation Panel with effect from 1 March 2021.


    Mr Henry Tang Ying-yen, Chairman of the WKCDA Board expressed gratitude to Mr Ambrose Ho and the 12 serving members for accepting the reappointments as chairman and members of the Consultation Panel. He also extended his warm welcome to Mr Henry Lai Hin-wing, Mr Lam Kin-man and Dr Lam Miu-ling to join the Panel. ‘In the coming two years, the West Kowloon Cultural District will achieve major milestones of the opening of M+ and the Hong Kong Palace Museum. The Consultation Panel will definitely provide valuable insights in promoting the successful development of the District. With a Panel comprising members from a wide array of professions and sectors, I am confident that the Authority will be able to advance its work in connecting with the wider community, in particular in engaging the youth,’ said Mr Tang. He also expressed his gratitude to the two retiring members, Mr Ching Cheung-ying and Mr Chow Yick-hay, for their support and contribution to the Panel in the past six years.

    The Consultation Panel was established by the WKCDA Board under Section 20 of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Ordinance to gather public views on matters related to the functions of WKCDA. The panel is composed of members coming from different sectors of the community with relevant knowledge and experience. Meetings of the Consultation Panel are open to the public. A full list of the Consultation Panel members for the current term are at Annex.

    The West Kowloon Cultural District is one of the largest and most ambitious cultural projects in the world. Its vision is to create a vibrant new cultural quarter for Hong Kong on forty hectares of reclaimed land located alongside Victoria Harbour. With a varied mix of theatres, performance spaces, and museums, the West Kowloon Cultural District will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances and cultural events, providing twenty-three hectares of public open space, including a two-kilometre waterfront promenade.
