    The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) announced the appointment of the Chairman and the reappointment of an existing member to its Consultation Panel with effect from 1 March 2020.
     

    Mr Henry Tang Ying-yen, Chairman of the WKCDA Board said, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the outgoing Chairman, Dr Rosanna Wong, for her contribution to the work of the Consultation Panel. I welcome the appointment of Mr Ambrose Ho as the Chairman, and reappointment of Professor Derek Collins as member of the Consultation Panel.” Mr Tang also extended his thanks to all members for their efforts connecting WKCDA and the wider community, especially in engaging young people. He also expressed his gratitude for the invaluable advice tendered by the Consultation Panel in support of the West Kowloon Cultural District project.

    The Consultation Panel was established by the WKCDA Board under Section 20 of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Ordinance to gather public views on matters related to the functions of WKCDA. The panel is composed of members coming from different sectors of the community with relevant knowledge and experience. Meetings of the Consultation Panel are open to the public. A full list of the Consultation Panel members for the current term are at Annex.

    The West Kowloon Cultural District is one of the largest and most ambitious cultural projects in the world. Its vision is to create a vibrant new cultural quarter for Hong Kong on forty hectares of reclaimed land located alongside Victoria Harbour. With a varied mix of theatres, performance spaces, and museums, the West Kowloon Cultural District will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances and cultural events, providing twenty-three hectares of public open space, including a two-kilometre waterfront promenade.
