Appointment of Consultation Panel Members of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority

The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) announced the appointment of the new Chairman and a new member, and the re-appointment of 14 exisiting members to its Consultation Panel.
 

Mr Henry Tang Ying-yen, Chairman of the WKCDA Board said, “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing Chairman, Professor John Leong for his dedication over the past six years. I would also like to thank the outgoing members, Mr Tang Shu-wing and Professor Eric Yim for their outstanding support to the work of the Consultation Panel.”  Mr Tang went on to acknowledge the contribution of all members who have successfully connected the West Kowloon Cultural District to the community and engaged young people in the project. He also extended a warm welcome to Dr Dame Rosanna Wong and Professor Derek Collins for joining the Consultation Panel as Chairman and Member respectively.

The Consultation Panel was established by WKCDA under Section 20 of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Ordinance to gather public views on matters related to the functions of the Authority. The panel is composed of members from different sectors of the community with relevant knowledge and experience. Meetings of the Consultation Panel are open to the public. A full list of the Consultation Panel members for the current term is at Annex.

About the West Kowloon Cultural District
The West Kowloon Cultural District is one of the largest and most ambitious cultural projects in the world. Its vision is to create a vibrant new cultural quarter for Hong Kong on forty hectares of reclaimed land located alongside Victoria Harbour. With a varied mix of theatres, performance spaces, and museums, the West Kowloon Cultural District will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances, and cultural events, providing twenty-three hectares of public open space, including a two-kilometre waterfront promenade.
