    The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) announces the reappointment of the Chairman and two existing members, and the appointment of nine new members to its Consultation Panel with effect from 1 March 2023.

     

    Mr Henry Tang Ying-yen, Chairman of the WKCDA Board, expressed gratitude to Mr Ambrose Ho, Chairman of the Consultation Panel and two other members, Ms Yolanda Ng and Mr Kyrus Siu, for accepting the reappointments and extended warm welcome to the nine new members to join the Consultation Panel.

     

    Mr Ambrose Ho, Ms Yolanda Ng and Mr Kyrus Siu have been reappointed to the Consultation Panel for another term of two years from 1 March 2023 to 28 February 2025.

     

    The following nine new members have been appointed to the Consultation Panel for a one-year term from 1 March 2023 to 29 February 2024:

    Mr Tang says, ‘The Consultation Panel comprises experts from various sectors, including education, arts, accessibility, social services, as well as tourism. As more arts and cultural exhibitions and programmes are expected to be staged in the West Kowloon Cultural District in the coming future, I look forward to gauging views and insights from the members to enhance communication between the WKCDA and the community, in particular the interaction with youth, further strengthen the promotion of arts and culture to local, Mainland and overseas audiences, and support Hong Kong's development into an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange.’

     

    Mr Tang also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the ten retiring members, including Mr Ronald Arculli, Mr Henry Chan Chi-chiu, Ms Mimi Cheung Yee-may, Mr Christopher Wicky Cheung, Ms Anita Gidumal, Mr Andy Ho Wing-cheong, Mr Chris Ip Ngo-tung, Prof Lena Lee, Mr Wyborn Leung Wai-hong and Mr Jason Wong Chun-tat, for their contribution to the development of the District over the past years.

     

    The Consultation Panel was established by the WKCDA Board under Section 20 of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Ordinance (Cap. 601) to gather public views on matters related to the functions of WKCDA. The panel is composed of members coming from different sectors of the community with extensive relevant knowledge and experience. Meetings of the Consultation Panel are open to the public.     The West Kowloon Cultural District is one of the largest and most ambitious cultural projects in the world. Its vision is to create a vibrant new cultural quarter for Hong Kong on forty hectares of reclaimed land located alongside Victoria Harbour. With a varied mix of theatres, performance spaces, and museums, the West Kowloon Cultural District will produce and host world-class exhibitions, performances and cultural events, providing twenty-three hectares of public open space, including a two-kilometre waterfront promenade.
