Biography
Yang Yuntao joined the Hong Kong Dance Company (HKDC) in 2002 as Principal Dancer and became its Artistic Director in 2013. Yang was honoured with two Hong Kong Dance Awards for Outstanding Performance, and was named Best Artist (Dance) at the 2009 Hong Kong Arts Development Awards. He has choreographed a number of award-winning dance performances for the HKDC over the years, including Spring Ritual·Eulogy, The Legend of Mulan, Storm Clouds, L’Amour Immortel, Shan Shui: an Ode to Nature and Convergence. He has recently spearheaded an interdisciplinary research study on Chinese dance and Chinese martial arts traditions.
