Ted Lo was the first Chinese graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1976 and began his career as a freelance jazz pianist in Boston and New York. By 1990, he had collaborated with jazz greats such as The Ron Carter Quartet, Herbie Mann and Family of Mann, Astrud Gilberto, Dave Valentin and Special EFX. Lo has performed at renowned venues and festivals including Blue Note Jazz Club (New York), Hollywood Bowl (Los Angeles), Keystone Korner (San Francisco), Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club (London), North Sea Jazz Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival, and Montreux Jazz Festival. In 1996, he returned to Hong Kong to pursue a career as musician, educator, composer, arranger, and producer. In 2021, he was recognised on Tatler’s Asia’s Most Influential list. His debut solo piano album Words was released in 2022.
