Resident Choreographer of CCDC, Sang Jijia is the recipient of multiple international dance awards and the Asian Cultural Council Fellowship. In 2002, he studied choreography with William Forsythe in Germany under the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative. He also danced with the Forsythe Company and acted as Assistant Choreographer with the Ballet Frankfurt. Sang has created work for CCDC, BeijingDance/LDTX and Guangdong Modern Dance Company, as well as Ballet Frankfurt (Germany), Spellbound Contemporary Ballet (Italy), Carte Blanche (Norway), GöteborgsOperans Danskompani (Sweden) and others. Celebrated for his physical and emotional movement language and his use of electronic music, Sang’s choreographies include: As If To Nothing (2009), Pa | Ethos (2015), Fragile Beauty (2016), Mr Blank (2018), Re-Mark (2019) and Meeting In-between Time (2022).
