Biography
Hong Kong-based choreographer and performer Paula Wong Pona graduated from the Chinese Culture University in Taipei, where she majored in Contemporary Dance. In 2022, she became an artist in residence with Unlock Dancing Plaza. Wong’s latest productions Men Act, Women Appear and Kerry & Frieda (2020 – 2021) explored expectations of the female body and the perspectives and power of the gaze. Previous choreographic work includes Tree (2019) and Behind You (2018). Wong’s collaborations with local artists include Chan Wai Lok’s Reverie (2022), Joseph Lee’s Drifting (2021), Sharon Tam’s Untitled (2020), and Pewan Chow’s Maze 3.0 and Tenacity (2019).
