Award-winning pianist, composer, arranger and producer Patrick Lui has performed at festivals worldwide, and featured as guest conductor and pianist with the Taipei Jazz Orchestra and the Kyoto Composers Jazz Orchestra.
In 2021, his composition Mirror Dance won the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards (Jazz Composition, Emerging Division). He also won the Taichung Jazz Piano Competition in 2011. Together with pop group RubberBand, he won the prestigious Commercial Radio 903 Album of the Year and Song of the Year awards with the album Easy and the song Ciao.
His big band Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra opened for the 2019 Hong Kong Jazz Marathon and was a headliner at the Freespace Jazz Fest from 2019 to 2022. In 2020, he released his debut big band album Sonder, which was recorded in New York. In 2021, Patrick Lui Jazz Orchestra was invited by Alliance Française de Hong Kong to perform at the Jazz in French Films concert of the French May Arts Festival. The orchestra was also invited by the Jazz Education Network in the US to perform at their 2021 annual conference.
