Biography
Ni Guangjin is a National Grade Two Director at the Shanghai Kunqu Opera Troupe. A prolific Kunqu director, his major works include Met Museum Presents: The Peony Pavilion (Chinese Garden version), Miaoyu and Baoyu, The Confidant, and a number of revival productions such as The Peony Pavilion (“Four Dreams in the Camellia Hall” version) and Over the Wall on Horseback. Under his helm, the experimental Kunqu production The Chairs was named “Excellent Studio Theatre Production” by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and has been performed in multiple countries.
