Ms Chow is the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Arts Development Council.  She is a senior arts administrator of Hong Kong experienced in the planning and management of performing arts venues, presentation of arts programmes, devising and implementing funding schemes for the arts and collaboration initiatives as well as promotion of cultural exchange. Before joining the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC), she worked in the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government where she managed 14 performing arts centres and the presentation of performing arts programmes on a territory-wide basis. Her career path was marked by a number of festivals and celebration events, including the opening of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in 1978 and the founding of New Vision Arts Festival and World Cultures Festival.

 

Since joining HKADC in August 2015, Ms Chow has completed a reform of the funding schemes to facilitate grantees’ planning and operation including overseas visits, initiated a more vigorous international and Mainland cultural exchange strategy, fundraised to organize a new festival titled “Jockey Club New Arts Power” and expanded the plan to develop more arts spaces for Hong Kong artists.  Her coming initiative is to devise an “Arts in Schools Scheme” (working title) to enable partnership between schools and arts groups.  She is presently a member of the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee of Airport Authority Hong Kong as well as a member of Arts & Culture Council of Asia Society Hong Kong Center.
