Ms Monique Burger was born in Switzerland where she forged a successful career in private banking and headhunting. In 1998, she and her husband, Mr Max Burger, established the Burger Collection, which encompasses a wide range of works, including Euro-American, Indian, and Asian art.
Ms Burger, alongside her husband, is a patron and supporter of many institutions, including Para Site (Hong Kong), Khoj International Artists’ Association (New Delhi), the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (Washington, DC), the Museo Tamayo (Mexico City), Kunsthalle Zürich, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Lincoln Center (New York), C&G Artpartment (Hong Kong), and Haus Konstruktiv (Zurich). Ms Burger was a Board member of Asia Art Archive (Hong Kong) and is currently a member of the Board of Swiss Institute Contemporary Art (New York), the Advisory Committee of Asia Society (Hong Kong and New York), and Art Basel's Global Patrons Council.
