Ms Elaine C Kwok is Managing Partner, Asia for Hauser & Wirth, an international contemporary art gallery representing over 90 artists and estates, with 13 spaces globally. Based in Hong Kong, Ms Kwok is responsible for leadership and strategy of the gallery’s activities in the region, as well as furthering the gallery’s relationship with artists, museums, institutions and collectors in Asia.
Prior to joining Hauser & Wirth, Ms Kwok spent 15 years at Christie’s, the world’s leading auction house, where she most recently held the position of Director of 20th / 21st Century Art, Asia. Ms Kwok also served as principal auctioneer for Asia at Christie’s, and in 2018, sold Wood and Rock by Su Shi for US$60 million, the most expensive work of art that Christie’s has ever sold in Asia.
Ms Kwok sits on the Museum Advisory Committee of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of HKSAR Government. She is also Vice Chair of the Executive Committee of the Friends of Hong Kong Museum of Art, and a Board Member of Societé des Amis du Musée Guimet. Ms Kwok maintains an active social media presence, with over 140,000 followers across Instagram and RED.
Ms Kwok holds a BA from Harvard University, an MA from School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and an MBA from Stanford University.
