As the founder and director of Fine Art Asia, Mr Andy Hei is committed to exploring the possibilities between classic, contemporary and future in art. In addition, as a professional dealer of classical Chinese furniture, Mr Hei has been working on the research, identification and conservation of huanghuali and zitan furniture from the Ming and Qing dynasties. He has participated in major international art fairs such as Fine Art Asia and Art Basel Hong Kong, and founded the Hong Kong Antiques and Art Galleries Association to promote the development of the industry.

 

Mr Hei has served as a Council Member of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) since 2017. He was appointed Chairman of the Arts Promotion Committee under HKADC in 2020. In 2015, he was appointed Founding Chairman of the new Hong Kong Antique and Art Galleries Association, which aims to gain greater recognition for Hong Kong’s art market. In 2018, he was appointed Honorary Advisor of the International Craftsmen Association, and in 2019, became a Trustee of the Friends of Hong Kong Museum of Art. In 2020, Mr Hei became a Non-Official Member of the Advisory Committee on Admission of Quality Migrants and Professionals. In 2022 and 2023, he was appointed as the Board Director of The Ink Society, as well as becoming a Member of the Museum Advisory Committee (MAC), a Member of the Art Sub-committee under MAC and a Member of the Culture Commission.
