Mr Ambrose Ho is a practising barrister. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1984 and the Hong Kong Bar in the same year. In 2000, he was appointed as Senior Counsel, and between 2006 and 2014, as a Recorder of the Court of First Instance of the High Court. Mr Ho joined the Consumer Council in 2003, and was the Council’s Vice-Chairman from 2007 to 2013. In 2008, he was appointed as the Chairman of the then Broadcasting Authority, and since the establishment of the Communications Authority in 2012, Mr Ho has been serving as the Authority’s Chairman until March of 2017. Mr Ho also served as the Chairman of the Air Transport Licensing Authority between 2018 and January 2022.
He is currently the Chairman of the Private Columbaria Appeal Board. He is also the Chairman of the Governing Committee of Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service and a member of the Hospital Authority.
