Linus Fung is a Hong Kong-based clarinettist who is active in different genres, including classical, contemporary and improvisatory music. He is a member of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, Wuji Ensemble, Freespace Ensemble, LENK Quartet and The TimeCrafters.
Fung graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from The Chinese University of Hong Kong under the tutelage of Martin Choy. He then went on to study with John Bradbury, Lynsey Marsh and Nicholas Cox at the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK, and graduated with a Master of Music. He currently teaches clarinet at The Education University of Hong Kong, Caritas Institute of Higher Education and Diocesan Girls’ Junior School.
Fung has performed in many festivals, including the Shanghai New Music Week, Seoul International Computer Music Festival, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Freespace Jazz Fest, HKT x WESTK POPFEST, Tai Kwun’s Prison Yard Festival and New Vision Arts Festival. He has also performed in productions such as Zoetrope, TechBox: Interaction of colour in space (Work-in-progress), VENT!, A Sonic Journey in Nature, Tranquil as a Chrysanthemum and Sunyata.
