Taiwanese dancer Lee Chia-ming joined the Hong Kong Dance Company in 2022
Biography

Taiwanese dancer Lee Chia-ming joined the Hong Kong Dance Company in 2022. He studied dance at the National Taiwan University of Arts from 2013 to 2017. While studying, he performed at the 2015 American Dance Festival (ADF) and participated in productions such as Song of the Wind and Prosperity Chapter (China Annual Exhibition), Events and Visions (Modern Dance Annual Exhibition), and Four Seasons (Ballet Annual Exhibition). Lee also performed with the 2016 International Youth Ambassador Exchange Programme – Asia Pacific Group. Between 2019 and 2022, he furthered his dance studies by attending the Master of Fine Arts programme at the Taipei National University of the Arts. During his time there, he performed in productions such as The Journey in the Petal Rain and Hidden Voice.

 

Lee has also appeared in Birdy and Endless Sky for Hung Dance. The former won the Audience Award for Best Choreography in the Masdanza competition in Spain in 2017. He was later invited to take part in seven added performances of the production. Other productions and events he has participated in include dance troupe Cloud Gate's (formerly Cloud Gate 2) Spring Fight; Beckoning, Bright, and Southern (part of the Cathay Arts Festival school and community tour); Abidjan Arts and Entertainment Market (MASA); and The Last Dance by 01 Dance, which was showcased at the Kaohsiung Spring Arts.
