Ikumi Kurosu

Founder of the dance company Bushman, and member of dance company Condors, Ikumi Kurosu has gained attention for his unique exploration of unconventional body movements. He has received three Yokohama Dance Collection awards, including the Jury Prize (Yokohama Dance Collection EX 2015, 2017), and the Japan Dance Forum Award in 2020. Kurosu has performed at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival, Romania, as well as festivals in South Korea, Hungary and Malaysia. Leveraging his decade-long experience as an educator, he conducts workshops for children, seniors and individuals with disabilities. He is also a part-time lecturer at Ariake College of Education and the Arts.
