Hou Xuchen

Born in Xiangxi in Hunan province, Hou Xuchen is a dancer of Miao ethnicity. After he graduated from the Guangzhou Arts School in 2013, Hou was awarded full scholarship in the same year to study at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in Chinese Dance. He represented the academy for numerous overseas performance tours and was awarded the academy’s Dean of Dance Scholarship and The Margaret Zee Outstanding Performer Award.

Hou was a dancer with the Hong Kong Dance Company from 2017 to April 2023. He also serves as a researcher for the dance troupe on Chinese martial arts and Chinese dance. In 2019, he was invited to perform at the launch of the jewellery brand COUGH IN VAIN at the Shanghai Fashion Week.
