Cross-disciplinary artist Enoch Cheng explores recurrent themes of belonging, cross-cultural history, memory, migration and extinction through moving image, installation, dance, theatre and performance. His recent performances Curiosity Kills the Cat (with Li Pui-yan, 2021, Hong Kong Arts Centre) and Handle with Care (2022, Museum of Arts and Design, New York) combine elements of Chinese opera, fashion, mental health, and social and natural history. In 2020, Cheng was awarded the Asian Cultural Council Fellowship and was artist-in-residence at the American Museum of Natural History, New York. Cheng has also been artist-in-residence at the Museum Insel Hombroich, Neuss (2019), Laureate at the Institut Francais, Paris (2018), and artist-fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart (2017–2018).
