Hong Kong pianist, composer, arranger, producer and music director Daniel Chu graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music at 20 years old and has collaborated with across disciplines with artists such as painter Makoto Fujimura, songwriter Jordan Waré, and pop divas Sammi Cheng and Janice Vidal. In 2018, he formed the electroacoustic music trio manvsmachine with sound designer hirsk and drummer Blue Kwok, and has since performed with them at festivals in Europe and Asia. In 2021, Chu presented his work Game Play with Freespace Ensemble and the solo piano recital Extremes. In 2022, he was music director for Terence Lam and The Absent Brother’s MOOV Digital Concert and keyboardist for Freespace Ensemble Pop Plus: Kraftwerk Reimagined, and presented two solo piano sets spotlighting the ballads of Leslie Cheung.
