Corey Baker is an award-winning choreographer and filmmaker known for his innovation and for taking dance out of traditional settings and spaces to stadiums, skyscrapers, parks, films and even to Antarctica. Born in New Zealand, he trained as a classical dancer in Christchurch and Sydney before moving to Switzerland to dance at Ballet Theatre Basel. Baker joined the BalletBoyz in the UK in 2008 and founded Corey Baker Dance in 2010. To date, the company has created over 20 works, toured established theatres and made works for television and film. In 2018, Baker became the Resident Choreographer at The Royal New Zealand Ballet. He has worked with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, Sydney City Youth Ballet, Elmhurst School for Dance, London 2012 Summer Olympics, Rugby World Cup 2015, VisitEngland, Royal Albert Hall, Kneehigh Theatre, Channel 4, BBC’s The Space and Choice TV in New Zealand.
